Here is a photo of Hamid Gilani, vice-president of the upper house in Afghanistan’s Parliment. This was the group that wrote a letter supporting the death sentence of Afghan student and journalist, Parwiz Kambakhsh, for possessing documents discussing women’s role in the Koran.
Kissing the hand of a woman is also a crime in Islamic law.


These photos beg the questions: Shouldn’t Hamid Gilani be arrested and tried? Was it hypocrisy when the upper house supported the execution of a young student doing journalistic research?
